This is my first post on my NEW webpage. I am newly retired and have been quilting for over 40 years, less than that with my Tin Lizzie 18 longarm. I love this craft and decided that since there were not many options for longarm services in my area, that I would open this door and walk through. I am posting a few pics of my work area and will post pics of my work and quilts at a later time. I have a 200 sq foot "workshop" that is divided into quilting/sewing and then the other half into my artwork.

My space before it was full. In the background is my Tin Lizzie 18, my serger, and my Jazz sit-down quilter(that doubles as a regular sewing machine). In the foreground is a cutting table my husband and I made with Walmart shelves and a plywood top covered in resin to look like marble.

We added wheels so that it could be moved out of the way if needed. In the background was my failed pegboard attempt #1. The dowel rods did not stay in due to the weight of the spools of thread. Had to purchase the metal thingies that fit in the holes, but they worked.

You can see that I have mastered the thread pegboard!!

Bins purchased from Amazon hold color coded fabric. In total it cost me $395 to make. When I saw a comparable table advertised it was between $600 and $900. Yay, more $$ for fabric!!!

My stash wall and ironing board.

This area now has two filing cabinets where the quilt rack is...one can NEVER have enough fabric. Can I get an AMEN!

The fabric wall on the right holds my upcoming quilt with the centers hand painted with a printing technique. I took a class at the Houston Quilt Festival and fell in love with painting my own fabric. The centers started out as white blocks and transformed into all types of designed. More about this in a later post.

My art section of the room. THEN......

This is now..........I need a day to reorganize it seems!

I hope you have enjoyed your journey through my HAPPY PLACE!
